I absolutely LOVE photographing babies and children – no seriously. My own son is four and kids are always so intensely busy with their own little projects, they don’t understand our world yet and they rarely care. Instead they are utterly entranced by an ant climbing a wall, their newest toy or what happens if they throw this thing that way.
Children are among my favourite subjects simply because they invariably introduce that photo-magic I like to affectionately call ‘borderline chaos’. Play-worker Arthur Battram spoke of ‘the edge of chaos’; a mental state whereby children feel safe enough play freely – secure enough to take risks and I feel many photography projects hold the same fundamental basics.
I am a passionate documentary photographer and children give me everything I could ever need to create beautiful, emotive and memorable shots. Chaos aside, I am equally happy to facilitate some ‘posed’ shots but it can definitely be helpful to adjust your expectation of what this means in advance and how best to orangize the time I have with you. My current base rate is £300.00 for a 2 hour shoot inclusive of 10 high resolution downloads. Here is an example of the type of gallery you would receive, as you can see you are able to order prints, photo albums, cards and many more products directly from your online album but if you prefer to simply purchase the digital files each additional image is currently priced at £12.00.
I am working on an additional option that would enable clients to purchase their full set of images for £250.00 – a considerable saving when you bear in mind most 2 hour shoots yield around 100 images.
